Post subject: Us as players

I think this has been mentioned before but I thought we needed a full topic.

Here’s me as a human blitzer

# Name Position MA ST AG AV Skills INJ Value
1 Lambo Blitzer 7 3 4 8 Block, Dodge, Sure hands, Sprint NI 210,000

Well known for his long TD scoring runs, Lambo was a first choice for the Sheffield Hallam Warriors from 03 to 06. A heavy tackle in the 05/06 season meant a few missed games and has left him with a Niggling injury. Lambo now only plays the occasional game as an old boy and some touch</td></tr></table>

Think this is about fair and would make the blood bowl player play like me. 76 SPP would put me into our league star players list and my value would be 210k (90k starting and 120k for the skills).
Had to add Niggling injury as thats pretty accurate :)

Who else wants to post? Stick to the same SPP total and start with a human positional. I would have gone for an Orc blitzer but would essentially be the same with higher AV and lower MA, and thats not really me.

# Name Position MA ST AG AV Skills INJ Value
1 Ju Lineman 7 3 3 8 +1 MA, Catch 110,000

A former wide receiver, Ju now plays on the end of the scrimmage line to help block for the faster players or take the short pass.

I actually think a player like this would be handy on a human team. He has the speed to cover a catcher and the strength and armour to take a hit. But, if the catcher gets covered, then he has the hands to take a pass and go for it himself!

110k (50k lineman + 30k double skill + 30k move upgrade)

# Name Position MA ST AG AV Skills INJ Value
1 Tubes Thrower 6 3 3 8 Pass, Sure Hands, Dump-Off, Hail Mary Pass, Catch 140,000

Originally a lineman, he developed while playing in the youth sides to become more of a thrower. His hands are fairly reliable both catching/picking up the ball and throwing it! With his experience he can also read the game and ever alert for any incoming blitz! He also has the ability to throw the ball nearly the length of the pitch, not that it would be very accurate.

It is quite tough ‘making’ yourself. You could go over board on skills/developments – hopefully I haven’t.

# Name Position MA ST AG AV Skills INJ Value
1 Nige Catcher 8 3 3 7 Catch, Dodge, Dump-Off, Sprint 170,000

Stronger and faster than you average grunt, NigeD had also learnt how to dump-off the ball when tackled.

170k (70k Catcher + 20k single skill + 30k double skill + 50k strength upgrade)

# Name Position MA ST AG AV Skills INJ Value
1 Ronin Lineman 6 3 3 8 Kick, Leader, Kick-off Return, Pass Block 140,000

An experienced Blood Ball player, Rich initially struggled to make the transition to Blood Bowl and his ball handling skills are still suspect. But he has a great reading of the game and is a superb team player.

We’ve got the makings of a decent team :)

It interesting to see how people construct themselves and which positions they think they’d want to play.

I think we have a nice mix here, but not many ‘hitters’; maybe Pete will change that? :) I was never much of a tackler…

Can’t wait to play more touch AF at the BB weekends!! Will be interesting to see how people rack up against these stats lines. ;) If we can get all 8 of us together on a reasonable weekend we should bring in a bit of blocking, but still touch tackling. Might make for a bit more of a tactical game..?

Maybe we can get a touch game going on the sunday of the Ju-lucks weekend? Would provide some light relief after a hard day playing on the saturday. Or we could move the finals to sunday morning and play touch between the two rounds on saturday? Probbaly best to keep all the BB on the same day tho. And it will probly rain.

As for introducing blocking; NO. It will only get silly, semi contact always does as everyone has a very different idea of what it means.

Fair call. No blocking :)

Ground will be wet if we play though, so might be worth hunting down a bit of tarmac maybe? Have to see what’s around.

# Name Position MA ST AG AV Skills INJ Value
1 Petero Spencelroy Lineman 6 3 3 8 Grab, Stand Firm, Wrestle 130,000

Enthusiastic about the less ball orientated aspects of Blood Bowl, Petero is nevertheless hoping to expand his game a little and try his hand at throwing long bombs.

# Name Position MA ST AG AV Skills INJ Value
1 Giles Lineman 6 3 3 8 Very Long Legs, Fend, Jump-Up 100,000

Giles trains hard and has a love for the game which few can understand, a love which helped him accept his ‘gift’ from the chaos gods with open arms and combine it with his other talents to make him hard to grapple with on the pitch.

100k (50k lineman + 30k double skill + 20k single skill + free mutation from Chaos Cup!)
